Your subscription

What is free forever, what the subscription covers, how the trial works, and how to change or cancel it.

On this page

The rule is simple, and it is the reason this product exists: everything on your own network is free forever. The subscription pays for the parts that leave your house.

Free, with no time limit and no card

Install the server and you have the whole thing on your own network:

  • The full server, every feature, no locked tiers
  • Hardware-accelerated playback, 4K, HDR, surround sound
  • Profiles, parental controls, live TV, recording
  • Movie Night, playlists, collections, stats, webhooks
  • Every app on every platform, also free

We are not going to move any of that behind a paywall later. It is the whole point.

$4.99 a month, or $149.99 once for lifetime. No annual plan, no per-user pricing, no add-ons.

The important line in that table is the third one. When you share your server with your parents or a friend, their remote watching is covered by your subscription. They do not need to pay, and they do not need to be nagged into paying. One person pays for a server; everyone that server is shared with is covered.

The 30-day trial

Starting a trial takes a card. Nothing is charged for 30 days, and at the end it turns into the monthly plan unless you cancel first.

We used to run this without a card. It was the wrong call: people got to day 30, hit a wall they had not planned for, and lost remote access mid-episode. A card up front means the trial actually turns into a working service, and cancelling takes one click at any point in those 30 days.

One trial per account. It starts when the trial actually begins, so an abandoned checkout does not use it up.

Managing it

Everything lives on your billing page.

  • Manage billing opens the payment portal, where you can change your card, download invoices and receipts, switch plans, or cancel.
  • Cancel takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep remote access until then. There is no partial refund for the rest of a month, and there is no penalty.
  • Lifetime is a one-off payment. It never renews and there is nothing to cancel.

Payments are handled by Stripe, who are the seller of record. That means Stripe calculates, collects, and remits sales tax and VAT for your country, and your receipt comes from them. We never see your card details.

Refunds

  • Lifetime: 30 days, no questions. If it is not for you, email support@kammcs.com within 30 days of buying and we refund it.
  • Monthly: cancel any time. You keep access through the period you paid for. We do not pro-rate a partial month.

The full wording is on the refunds page.

The limits, and what they actually mean

Three servers per account. Most people have one. Three covers a house plus a parent’s place plus a holiday flat. Servers are counted when you link them, so unlinking one frees the slot immediately.

Five simultaneous remote streams. Five people can watch from outside the house at once, across all your servers, whichever combination of them. This is about the bandwidth we relay when a direct connection is not possible, so it is priced honestly rather than hidden.

Anything on your own network never counts. Watching in your own living room does not consume a remote stream, ever, whether or not you are subscribed and whether or not the server is even linked. Guests who join a Movie Night from your own Wi-Fi do not count either.

When a trial or subscription ends

Your server keeps running and everyone in the house carries on exactly as before. What stops is:

  • Watching from outside the house, for you and for everyone you share with
  • Starting new downloads on phones and tablets. Downloads already on a device keep playing

Nothing is deleted, nothing is disabled locally, and resubscribing turns it straight back on.
